Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Determine production requirements
   • Steps required for production processes are identified and flow charts produced, where necessary according to OHS practices
   • Tooling, machinery and equipment requirements for production are ascertained and documented
2. Gather data and specifications
   • Equipment requirements are determined and potential equipment and systems are identified
   • Appropriate data on equipment and systems and their performance is obtained and compiled
   • Equipment and systems specifications are identified and interpreted
3. Evaluate equipment or system against requirements
   • Equipment or system options are determined in consultation with relevant personnel from both the workplace and the manufacturers of the equipment or systems
   • Equipment or system options are evaluated against the requirements of the workplace
4. Prepare report and recommendations
   • Recommendations are developed to meet requirements of the workplace
   • Recommendations are discussed with relevant personnel and appropriate action is taken on the feedback received
   • Report of evaluation and associated recommendations is prepared and forwarded according to workplace practices
5. Maintain records
   • Records are maintained of analyses and recommended strategies in accordance with workplace practices

Required Skills
